IAB Europe partnered with IAB Tech labs has launched an updated version of TCF which includes better functionality for users and publishers. TCF tool includes tech specs and docs related to policy that helps the publishers deliver personalized content while being obliged to legal aspects for advertising in that particular country. In general, the tool helps the companies manage their GDPR related compliance obligations.
TCF 2.0 will run in parallel to TCF 1.1 until 2020 so that the companies have enough time to implement this. The whole team is excited and adding onto this, Angela Mills Wade, Executive Director, European Publishers Council (EPC) said “The EPC and Publishing members of the TCF Steering Group were able to provide valuable feedback on how the framework could be improved and better serve the community. Under TCF 2.0, publishers can provide more transparency to their users with the introduction of clearer and more detailed purposes and standardized flexibility in how these purposes are described to their users. This enables publisher confidence in delivering more choice, transparency, and control to their readers”.
